Initially she worked in schools in NSW, until she was seconded to the Southern Regional Directorate as a consultant. Following her marriage she moved to Victoria where she became the first female Head of Department at Caulfield Grammar School. From there she moved to the (then ) Board of Studies where she wrote the Equine Industries (then Horse Studies) course which is now a Study Score subject in Victorian schools (Liz is State Reviewer and assisting Chief Examiner).
